The Hexweaver

Dark Forest biome boss — a master of dark magic who bends curse and vex alike to its will.

The Hexweaver is a rogue Evoker that has delved too deeply into forbidden sorcery, warping its body and mind into something far more dangerous than its kin. It commands swarms of Vexes and layers the battlefield with debilitating curses.

Abilities

  • Hex Snare: Telegraphed curse mark that detonates under the target tile, then drags the player 2 tiles toward the boss.
  • Runic Prison: Marks cardinal runes around the player; on resolve, each rune erupts and briefly becomes an obstacle, boxing movement.
  • Vex Swarm: Summons 2 Vexes (3 HP / 2 ATK) every 3 turns. Maximum 4 Vexes alive at once.
  • Fang Line: A 5-tile fang eruption directed toward the player, dealing 4 damage each. Telegraphed 1 turn in advance.
  • Cursed Fog: Projects a 3 × 3 curse cloud at the player’s position — enemies gain +3 DEF and the player loses −2 ATK for 3 turns.
  • Hex Bolt: Ranged attack at up to 4 tiles that applies 1-turn Slowness.

Phase 2 — “Arcane Fury”

Triggers at ≤ 50% HP. Teleports away whenever the player moves adjacent. Vex Swarm now spawns 3 Vexes per cast with a cap of 6. Fang Line upgrades into a full 4-direction cross burst from the Hexweaver.

Strategy

Watch warning tiles first, not the boss model. Step out of snare marks immediately, and keep one escape lane open before Runic Prison resolves. Clear Vexes quickly or the pull-and-cage sequence becomes overwhelming.
